The Usual Suspects

Mc Manna’s: mc manna’s is in a old rundown building sleeping on just a duvet, the camera shows he owns little items because all that’s around him is beer cans and other small and useless items. He has little clothing seen, as he is wearing nothing on his top half of his body. He is very messy and has tattoos up his arms that could show that he is rough and comes from a rough background and he also has no job because he wouldn’t be sleeping in that afternoon if he did.

The camera angle for Mc manna’s is a ‘mid-shot’ shot to show the top half of his body on the bed while he is sleeping and to also only show the guns of the armed men around him. They only give you a selected view of him because they’re inset much about him and he has little items. The lighting for this scene is low until the armed men burst in and there is a ray of light, lighting the area (diegetic), from where they have come in. At the end of the scene it uses a sound bridge and the sound of something clanging about and then something is being shaken.  And then to hockeny in the garage.

Hockney: Hockney is in a garage on the floor fixing an old car, you can see he wears casual clothes that are neat and aren’t to ripped up or dirty, he also thinks high of himself and likes to be sarcastic and joke around as if he doesn’t care about anyone, and he looks like a normal person.
When the men walk in he wipes his face with a cloth and makes it look like he is reaching for a gun which sows he doesn’t care and inset afraid to die if they shoot him and he seems to think about his appearance too.

The camera angle is a ‘mid-shot’ from in front of hockney to show him and the men standing in the door way behind him but its also a ‘close up’ on him and how he looks to the viewers. They blur the back part by the door where the men are so you still focus on Hockney until they move closer to him. The lighting in this scene is Light because he is in a garage working on cars and has to be able to see (non-diegetic). It then cuts to Fenster by Hockney throwing the cloth at the camea.

Fenster: Fenster looks like a smart man because he is dressed in a suit but he looks a bit messy and not as smart as the suit makes him look. The area he is in looks like it’s a poor or cheap area and Fenster looks like he shouldn’t be there, when he turns around the corner he try’s to hide his face and walks back around the corner as if he is trying to hide something and gives him a sense of secrecy.
When the car pulls up he doesn’t try to get away and just gives up and gets in the car.

The camera shot is a ‘mid-shot’ again so you can see the area he is in as well as what he is wearing and how he is acting and what he is doing. The lighting for this scene is light because they are outside in the open. It then cuts to Katon. Fast pace music/ mid-pace music.

Keaton: the camera shows Keaton is in a posh restaurant doing business with 2 men trying to sell them his ideas to them you can tell this because he is in a smart suit and they have posh and expensive things in the restaurant, he is also with a woman maybe his wife or girlfriend. He talks with in a very persuasive way to make people do what he wants he also doesn’t worry about going with the police to the station to be questioned and gets his wife or girlfriend to tell the men he will be back soon and he persuades them to say and wait for him to get back.

The camera shot for Keaton is an ‘over the shoulder’ shot from the two business men so you ant see there faces because they are not important to the film and it also gives you a shot of Keaton and how he is dressed, looks and acts in different situations. The camera shot stays in the same place for the whole scene when it is focusing on Keaton. The music is a piano playing in the restaurant. His clip is longer (editing)

Verbal: Verbal has to drag his left foot along the floor because he has a disability and his arm is also disabled too, but he is casually dressed with nice polished shoes he has a evil look on his face as if he is annoyed or angry.

The camera shot for Verbal is a ‘tracks’ shot and is following him down the hallway and is moving from a low to high shot showing you all of his features and the shot is also a ‘close up’ so you can see some detail.
